Connecting a NAS
Fictura's NAS source/destination isn't a separate protocol — it's a saved path pointing at a network share your operating system already has mounted as a regular folder. Setup happens outside Fictura entirely.
1. Mount the share
Connect to your NAS the normal way for your OS — Finder's "Connect to Server" (SMB/AFP) on macOS, mapping a network drive on Windows, or an /etc/fstab/mount entry on Linux. Once it's mounted, it behaves like any other folder on disk.
2. Point Fictura at the mounted path
In Import or Export, choose NAS and enter (or browse to) the mounted share's local path — e.g. /Volumes/Media on macOS, or Z:\Media on Windows.
3. Optional: add it to scan directories
If you want Sync and folder-based import to find media on the NAS automatically, add the mounted path to your scan directories in Settings.
Keep in mind
Fictura only sees the NAS while it's actually mounted and reachable — if the share disconnects, it just looks like a missing or empty folder, the same as any other network drive going offline.
