Portfolio
Portfolio is a special, always-there collection for your best or favorite work — think of it as a star/favorite flag that happens to behave like any other collection everywhere else in the app.
Adding and removing items
Open any photo, video, or audio item and toggle its Portfolio flag (a star/checkbox in the viewer). That's the entire workflow — the item is immediately added to (or removed from) your Portfolio collection. There's nothing separate to manage or sync; the flag and the collection membership are always the same underlying state, viewed two different ways.
Where it shows up
- Filter the Media view to show only Portfolio items — a quick way to see just your best work across your whole library, regardless of when it was shot or which other collections it belongs to.
- Portfolio behaves like any other collection for browsing and organizing.
Exporting just your Portfolio
The Export view's Attributes filters include a Portfolio only checkbox, right alongside the date-range and tag filters. Turn it on and the batch export includes exclusively items flagged as Portfolio — across photos, videos, and audio at once, in whichever of those media types you've also included in the export — with no need to hand-pick files or build a one-off collection just to share a highlight reel.
Portfolio only combines with your other filters rather than replacing them: pairing it with a date range or tags narrows further, to Portfolio items that also match those filters, not either/or. Leave the other filters empty and it's simply every Portfolio item, in one export.
Why use it instead of a regular collection
A named collection is for grouping by what something is — a shoot, a client, a project. Portfolio is for marking how good it is, independent of any project — an item can be in a client collection and in your Portfolio at the same time, and moving it out of the client collection later has no effect on its Portfolio status.
