Image Filters Reference
Fictura's photo and video editor shares one filter pipeline: 44 adjustments covering tone, color, blur/sharpen, repair, geometry, and creative effects. Every filter can be added, reordered, toggled on and off, removed, and hand-edited as raw JSON (see the JSON editor) from the editing panel.
Filters apply in a fixed order by category — tone and color adjustments happen before geometry and creative effects, regardless of the order you stack them in the panel — so results are predictable no matter how you arrange your filter list.
Pick a filter below for its full parameter reference.
Light & Tone
Exposure
Multiplicative brightness gain applied before any tone mapping, like adjusting shutter speed after the fact.
Adjustments
The combined exposure/highlights/shadows/contrast/saturation/clarity panel for broad, quick edits in one place.
Contrast
Applies an S-curve to steepen or flatten the difference between shadows and highlights.
Highlights/Shadows
Independently recovers or suppresses highlight and shadow detail before tone mapping.
Levels
Sets black point, white point, and midtone gamma directly from the histogram.
Tone Curve
A draggable curve across the tonal range for fine-grained brightness and contrast control.
Tone Map
Compresses a high dynamic range image into a displayable range using a chosen response curve.
Texture
A small-radius sharpening pass that enhances or softens fine surface detail without affecting overall contrast.
Dehaze
Cuts through (or adds) atmospheric haze for clearer, more contrasty results.
Normalize
Automatically stretches contrast to use the full available tonal range.
Color
Temperature
Shifts the image warmer or cooler by adjusting its color temperature in Kelvin.
Tint
Shifts the image toward green or magenta, independent of temperature.
White Balance
Corrects color casts so neutral tones look neutral under the shooting light, using presets or a custom Kelvin value.
Vibrance
Boosts muted colors more than already-saturated ones, protecting skin tones from an unnatural look.
Saturation
Uniformly boosts or reduces color intensity across the whole image.
Channel Mixer
Blends the red, green, and blue channels into each other to retarget color relationships.
Color Balance
Independent 3-way color wheels for grading shadows, midtones, and highlights separately.
Selective Color
Adjusts the CMYK mix of a specific color range — reds, greens, whites, and more — without affecting the rest.
Photo Filter
Simulates a classic lens color filter (warming, cooling, or a soft-focus/pro-mist look).
LUT
Applies an uploaded 3D lookup table for a specific, repeatable color-graded look.
Blur & Sharpen
Blur (Gaussian)
Softens the image evenly with a standard Gaussian blur.
Sharpen
Increases perceived edge contrast and detail using an unsharp mask.
Median Filter
Softens fine noise and speckling using a box-blur pass, in discrete strength steps.
Smart Blur
Blurs while preserving edges, for noise reduction that doesn’t soften outlines.
Repair & Denoise
Deblock
Reduces blocky artifacts left behind by heavy compression.
Deband
Smooths visible banding in gradients, with optional grain to mask any remaining stepping.
NLMeans Denoise
Higher-quality denoising using a non-local-means algorithm, better suited to heavier noise than the fast pass.
Noise Reduction
A fast, general-purpose spatial denoiser — the quick alternative to NLMeans.
Transform & Geometry
Effects & Creative
Vignette
Darkens or brightens the frame edges relative to the center.
Noise (Film Grain)
Adds grain for a filmic, textured look.
Threshold
Converts the image to pure black and white based on a brightness cutoff.
Posterize
Reduces the number of tonal levels for a flat, graphic, banded look.
Negate
Fully inverts the image’s colors.
Sepia
Applies a classic warm monochrome tone.
Monochrome
Converts to black and white with an adjustable RGB tint.
Chroma Hold
Keeps one target hue in color and desaturates everything else.
Chroma Key
Keys out a single hue (like a green screen) to transparency, for compositing.
Luma Key
Keys out transparency based on brightness rather than color.
Edge Detect
Isolates edges for a stylized or diagnostic look.
Mask
Restricts filters above it in the stack to a hand-painted region of the image.
